Step-by-Step Instructions
| Step | Instruction |
|---|---|
| 1 |
Introduce the Weather Calendar Board: Show the child the activity board and explain that it helps us talk about how we feel and what the weather is like outside. Let them observe the different weather icons at the top and emotion faces at the bottom. |
| 2 |
Choose an Emotion: Guide the child to look at the faces at the bottom. Ask: “How are you feeling right now?” Encourage them to slide the emotion bar to the face that best shows their feeling. Briefly talk about the emotion—e.g., “You’re feeling happy today! That’s wonderful!” |
| 3 |
Observe the Weather: Take the child near a window or outdoors. Ask them to look at the sky. Discuss what they notice: Is it sunny? Are there clouds? Is it windy or rainy? |
| 4 |
Slide the Weather Needle: After observing, ask the child to rotate the needle to point to the weather condition that best matches what they see. Reinforce vocabulary—e.g., “Great! It’s cloudy today.” |
| 5 |
Daily Repetition and Sharing: Repeat the activity daily. Encourage the child to use the board each morning and share both their feeling and the weather with a parent, teacher, or friend. This practice builds confidence in expression. |
