Materials Needed
- 6 designed OHP sheets (Butterfly, Cherry, Whale, Elephant, Star, Bird)
- Cardboard roll (craft roll) with 2 slits
- Torchlight (flashlight)
Step-by-Step Instructions

Prepare the Materials: Take the cardboard roll and one OHP sheet at a time. Place the OHP sheet across the slit provided on the cardboard roll. |

Shine the Flashlight and Observe Shadows: Guide the child to shine a flashlight from the opposite side of the roll and watch as the object shadow appears on the wall or another surface. The shadow will be visible in a dimly lit or dark room. |

Explore and Experiment: Encourage the child to experiment with different objects’ shadows or move the flashlight to change the size of the shadows. The child may feel amazed seeing colourful and black shadows appear on the wall. This discovery can be exciting and gives a sense of accomplishment. |

Reflective Questions: Extend learning by asking: • “What happens if you move the flashlight closer or farther away?” • Encourage the child to create stories using the shadows. |
