Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Introduce the Calendar:
Show the calendar to the child and explain that it is a special tool that helps keep track of the day, date, month, and season. Allow the child to explore the calendar and attach the wheels with the base stand.
2 Identify the Parts of the Calendar:
Point out the different sections—month, date, day, and season spaces. Ask guiding questions like: “Can you help me find the number that shows today’s date?” This encourages the child to actively participate in the activity.
3 Set the Date:
Ask the child to turn the dial to set the correct date. Example: “Today is such a special day! Can you help me set the correct date on the calendar?”
4 Set the Day and Month:
Now guide the child to set the correct day and month. You can prompt them with: “Can you spin the wheel to find the month we are in now?”
5 Attach the Season Cut-Out:
Show the child the velcro season cut-outs and ask them to attach the current season using velcro.
6 Reinforce Calendar Concepts:
Repeat the activity regularly so the child strengthens their understanding of the calendar and seasonal changes. With daily practice, they’ll become more familiar with days, dates, months, and seasons.
7 Celebrate the Child’s Success:
Always praise the child’s effort and celebrate their success in completing the activity. This positive reinforcement supports better learning and engagement.
