Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Set Up the Activity:
Lay out all the activity materials on a flat surface, ensuring everything is within the child’s reach. Demonstrate the activity first, then encourage the child to try on their own.
2 Explain the Goal:
Tell the child that this activity will help them learn how to cover their mouth and nose while sneezing, which helps stop the spread of germs.
3 Fold the Tissue:
Guide the child on how to fold a small piece of tissue into a handkerchief-like shape.
4 Attach the Hand to the Thread and Tissue:
Give the child the hand cutout and help them glue it to the thread. Then glue the tissue paper to the hand to show the hand holding the tissue.
5 Attach the Hand to the Sheet:
Fold along the crease line of the hand cutout. Assist the child in pasting the hand cutout onto the activity sheet using the self-adhesive provided.
6 Pass the Thread:
Pass the other end of the thread through a small hole on the activity sheet. When the child pulls the thread from behind, the hand with the tissue should cover the face.
7 Use the Spray Bottle:
Explain that the spray represents pollution or a sneeze. Let the child spray lightly through the hole at the mouth, then quickly pull the thread to cover the mouth and nose with the tissue.
8 Talk About Hygiene:
Discuss why it’s important to cover the mouth and nose when sneezing to prevent germs from spreading.
9 Praise and Encourage:
Give positive feedback, praising the child for their efforts and for learning the importance of hygiene.
