Activity Goal To help children develop self-care routines and responsibility through a fun, interactive folding board. By completing daily habits and folding the board to match “Done” with the corresponding task, children learn sequencing and the importance of good habits in a visual and hands-on way.
Skills Developed Understanding of daily routine and self-care • Sequencing and order • Fine motor skills • Sense of responsibility and independence

Materials Needed

  • Activity board with four good habits printed: Get up early, Brush teeth, Have breakfast, Go to school
  • Velcro strips attached to each habit and to the “Done” section at the bottom of the board

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Introduction to the Activity:
Show the child the activity board and explain that it helps track when good habits are completed. Point out the four habits listed at the top and the matching “Done” boxes at the bottom.
2 Discuss Each Habit:
Talk with the child about why it’s important to get up early, brush teeth, have a healthy breakfast, and go to school on time. Ask if they have completed any of these already today.
3 Demonstrate the Fold-and-Match:
Explain that once a habit is completed, they will fold the board so that the Velcro on the habit meets the Velcro on the “Done” section. Show how folding connects the two.
4 Encourage Participation:
Let the child fold the board as they finish each task. For example, after brushing their teeth, they fold that part so it touches “Done.” Celebrate each completed fold!
5 Wrap-Up and Praise:
Once all habits are done and the board is fully folded with all habits marked as complete, give lots of praise. Reinforce how proud they should feel for completing their morning routine independently.
