  • Seasons board with an attached spinner
  • Clothes cutouts (for summer, winter, and rainy season)
  • 2 clothes stands
  • Thread
  • Clothes pins

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Set Up the Activity:
Place the materials on a flat surface. Help the child attach the clothes stands to the seasons board in the designated spaces and tie the thread. Mix the clothes cutouts and place them within easy reach of the child.
2 Explain the Activity:
Tell the child they are going to play a fun game about seasons. Explain that they will spin the wheel, read the season it points to, and then sort the clothes accordingly. They will then “dry” the clothes using clothes pins by hanging them on the stands, pretending they are drying in the shade.
3 Start the Game:
Encourage the child to spin the spinner using their finger and thumb, like striking a carrom. Watch as it spins and comes to a stop.
4 Identify the Season:
Help the child read or identify the season the pointer lands on. For example, you might say, “The spinner landed on winter!”
5 Sort the Clothes:
Ask the child to sort the clothes cutouts based on the season indicated by the spinner. They should then use clothes pins to hang the appropriate clothes on the stands, simulating drying in the shade.
6 Spin Again if Needed:
If the spinner indicates to “spin again,” encourage the child to do so.
7 Praise and Encourage:
Celebrate correct attempts with praise and keep the clothes cutouts aside once sorted. Encourage the child to continue spinning and sorting the remaining cutouts.
8 Discuss Seasons:
Start a conversation about the different seasons. Ask the child questions like:
• “What clothes do we wear in winter?”
• “How does the weather change in summer?”
9 Encourage Participation:
Invite the child to help family members with drying clothes in the shade, reinforcing the learning experience.
