Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Gather and Arrange the Materials: Place the activity sheet with the clown face, paper dice sheet, crayons, and duster on a table. Fold and assemble the dice sheet to create a colourful dice with crazy line patterns on each side. Explain: “Today we are going to give our clown fun, crazy hair by drawing colourful line patterns using a special dice!”
2 Explore Line Patterns Together: Show and talk about different line types (zigzag, spiral, straight, curly, curvy). Let the child trace them in the air or on the table. Ask: “Which line looks the funniest? Which one is your favourite?”
3 Roll the Dice! Invite the child to roll the dice. Ask them to observe the line pattern shown and say its name aloud (e.g., “I rolled a zigzag!”).
4 Match and Draw the Line Pattern: Help the child choose a crayon colour that matches the line on the dice. Ask the child to draw that same line on one part of the clown’s head to create a strand of crazy hair.
5 Roll Again and Repeat: Tell the child to roll the dice again. Repeat the steps: observe the new line, name it, pick a colour, and draw another hair strand.
6 Continue Until the Hair is Full: Keep rolling and drawing lines until the clown’s head is filled with colourful crazy hair. Let the child decide when the clown has a full, fancy head of hair.
7 Celebrate the Artwork: Praise the child: “Wow! Look at your silly clown’s colourful hair! You used so many different lines!” Display the artwork or click a picture to share with family.
